Aurora Borealis over Norfolk

Stargazers were treated to a dazzling display of the Northern Lights as the Aurora Borealis painted the night sky over Norfolk.

The phenomenon occurs when electrically-charged particles from the Sun enter the Earth's atmosphere.

The lights were visible in Scotland and Northern Ireland, but was also spotted as far south as Oxfordshire.

Gary Pearson filmed this footage near Thornham, on the north Norfolk coast.
