DVLA clamps down on untaxed vehicles

The DVLA is clamping down on untaxed vehicles in the North East.

Vans are equipped with automatic number plate recognition cameras and the DVLA driver is alerted by a beeping noise to clamp the offending vehicle.

In 2016, more than 10,000 motorists in the North East were issued with penalties for non-payment of vehicle tax. A further 1,700 vehicles were clamped or seized.
