Angela Sarkis appointed as first 'victims' commissioner'

A "victims' commissioner" has been appointed by Northamptonshire's police and crime commissioner (PCC) in what is thought to be the first role of its kind.

Angela Sarkis will lead an inquiry into victims' experience of the criminal justice system. She will then suggest to the PCC, Adam Simmonds, any improvements that might be made.

Ms Sarkis, who has been employed until September, will work three to four days a month and be paid a salary of between £8,000 and £10,000.
