Corby fire: Drone video shows extent of industrial estate damage

A fire at an industrial estate has left two buildings "severely damaged", firefighters have confirmed.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Earlstrees Industrial Estate in Corby at about 04:15 BST on Tuesday.

Aerial pictures show the charred and smoking remains of the business units. One fire crew remained at the scene on Wednesday.

The fire service said nearby residents and businesses could now feel free to open their windows and doors.

Jason Urbani, from the fire service, external, said: "We know a number of businesses were affected while we dealt with this, and we would like to thank them for their patience and understanding throughout."

At the height of the fire, an eyewitness said a plume of smoke could be seen from about nine miles (14km) away in Uppingham in Rutland.

The fire service said nine appliances had been at the scene, including crews from neighbouring counties.
