Ada Lovelace Day tours at Newstead Abbey
Tours have been held at Newstead Abbey to mark Ada Lovelace Day, named after Lord Byron's scientist daughter.
The tours relived the moment Ada visited her ancestral home for the first time, years after her father had died.
The computer language Ada was named after her, and computer specialist John Sullivan said she is regarded as the world's first computer programmer.
Penny Beniston, manager of Newstead Abbey, said Byron adored his daughter despite last seeing her when she was five weeks old.
