'Jobs boost' from Nottingham's new tram extension

Nottingham City Council has claimed that up to 8,000 jobs could be created as a result of the new tram extension.

Councillor Nick McDonald said the work would come from the economic benefit that a light rail network would provide.

The authority also said almost half of the construction jobs on the £570m project have gone to local people.
