Video captures 'brutal' cyclist hit and run

A cyclist has posted a video online of a car accelerating and colliding with him to highlight the dangers cyclists face.

Nottinghamshire Police say there is not enough evidence to prosecute the driver because the car was a hire vehicle and they cannot prove who was behind the wheel.

Instead, a man who was eligible to drive it has been fined £150 for failing to provide driver details.

In a statement, the force said it was "disappointed" with the outcome.
