Oxford shoppers try out plastic banknotes

People in Oxford are among the first to try out new plastic banknotes.

The Bank of England is gauging public opinion at the Westgate Centre before coming to a final decision in December.

The new notes stay cleaner, are more secure and should even survive a spell in the washing machine, the Bank says.
