Jesse Jackson: Oxford University has an absence of black students
Civil rights activist Rev Jesse Jackson has said that Oxford University is not doing enough to encourage black and ethnic minority students.
He was speaking ahead of an address to the Oxford Union, in which he expressed his concern about admissions to the university.
"The absence of blacks diminishes the greatness of these universities," he said.
Oxford has insisted the admission of black students was in line with the success rate of all applicants.
