23 Pioneer Regiment prepares to leave Bicester

The 23 Pioneer Regiment is preparing to say its final goodbye after being part of Bicester since the 1940s.

It is being disbanded as part of national plans to cut 20,000 army jobs.

About half the soldiers at St David's Barracks will be redeployed, while new facilities are being built on the site ready for two existing regiments to move in.
