Shroppies: The forgotten women of the Industrial Revolution

Researchers at the Ironbridge Gorge Museums Trust have been examining the role played by women during the Industrial Revolution.

To mark the 100th anniversary of some women getting the right to vote, the museum has been researching lesser-known jobs carried out by women.

Shropshire pit girls known simply as Shroppies worked in the county's mining industry throughout the 19th Century.
