Giant sand drawings made on Somerset beach with a rake

Nearly 30 giant sand drawings have been created on a beach in Somerset over the summer by a renowned snow artist.

Using just a rake and a compass, Simon Beck from Bracknell in Berkshire, has made 28 massive intricate patterns up to 200m (656ft) wide on Brean beach.

Known for creating huge geometric snow designs in the Alps with his feet, this year he wanted to experiment with sand.

He said: "It's a race against the tide, it's nine hours of furious work but at least your hands and feet aren't cold."
