Somerset bank scam costs elderly women £30,000

An 83-year-old woman was scammed out of £30,000 after she was conned by a gang posing as police officers.

Eileen Gould, from Somerset, was told her bank was being investigated by the Metropolitan Police's fraud squad and was advised to withdraw all her money.

She was also talked into taking out a loan and ended up handing over £30,000 to a fake police officer who called at her door.
