'Police accused my daughter of lying' over child abuse

A mother whose 12-year-old daughter was abused has said she was forced to try to identify the abusers herself due to police inaction.

She claims South Yorkshire Police accused her daughter of being "a liar and wasting police time".

The BBC understands that South Yorkshire Police have apologised to the family for calling their daughter a liar.
