UK's strongest man Eddie Hall lifts van in Hanley

The UK's strongest man lifted a two-and-a-half-tonne van in Hanley city centre.

Eddie Hall, 27, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, is the world's fourth strongest man.

He wowed crowds of shoppers in Tontine Square by holding the van up for six seconds.

He said: "It felt relatively easy but it was still a tough lift."

"You've got to hold your breath and all the muscles are straining so it's perfectly normal to change colour."

He said his dream was to take the World's Strongest Man title in 2016 and he was training hard to reach his goal.
