£43m Ospreys arrive at RAF Mildenhall

A Suffolk airbase has taken delivery of two £43m CV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft.

The United States Air Force is expanding its operations at the base and is due to have eight more Ospreys in the next few years.

The Osprey can take-off and land vertically like a helicopter, and then its rotors tilt round to allow it to fly like a conventional aeroplane.

It can travel up to 300mph (482km/h).
