Ipswich cartoonist Giles artworks go under the hammer
A number of original artworks and prints by Ipswich cartoonist Carl Giles fetched more than expected when they came up for auction.
Giles lived and worked in Suffolk for most of his life. He died in 1995 at the age of 78.
Interest from overseas at the Lockdales auction in Martlesham pushed up the prices, with an original print for an RNLI Christmas card fetching £3,000, more than twice what was expected.
Kevin Burch was at the sale.
