'Forgotten' World War One soldiers from Framlingham honoured at last

Nearly 100 years after the end of World War One the names of 20 "forgotten" soldiers who lost their lives in the conflict have finally been added to a Suffolk war memorial.

Evelyn Empson, from Framlingham, spent five years researching the identity of the soldiers who were missing and campaigning to get them recognised.

She said there were "lots of reasons" why they were missing, but it was mainly because a parent had died or moved house.

"If a parent didn't reply to a letter from the war office, they were sadly missed off."

The men will be honoured, along with 78 others from town who fought in the war, during a Remembrance service on Sunday.
