Villagers attend Balcombe meeting

Villagers in Balcombe have met with anti-fracking campaigners at a public meeting.

No Dash for Gas is planning a five-day action camp in Balcombe, called Reclaim the Power, which is due to begin on Friday.

Energy company Cuadrilla began exploratory drilling for oil near the West Sussex village on Friday last week.

The firm said it would only consider fracking at the site if no oil or gas is found in the rocks beneath by conventional means.

Yvette Austin, BBC South East's environment correspondent, spoke to Reclaim the Power spokesman Bradley Day, and Alison Stevenson, chairman of Balcombe Parish Council.
