Driver jailed for Brighton 'viral' hit-and-run

Adam McDermott, 33, of South Coast Road, Brighton, has been jailed after a hit-and-run was captured on CCTV and seen by millions online.

Andy Payne, 54, suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by a Fiat 500 in Brighton in January 2016, hurling him into the air.

Millions of people have watched the CCTV footage released by Sussex Police following the hit-and-run in Montague Place, Kemptown.

The judge at Lewes Crown Court jailed McDermott for a total of six-and-a-half years.
