Hartlepool tapestry marks WW1 civilian dead

In the centenary year of the outbreak of World War One, residents of Hartlepool have commemorated the day the war came to their shores.

German warships bombarded the town on 16 December 1914, killing 101 civilians.

Embroiderers have unveiled a tapestry in memory of those who died, which went on display at the Heugh Battery Museum.

Peter Harris went to see it.
