World Down’s Syndrome Day: Tattoos make a statement

People across the country have been encouraged to mix up their footwear today to mark World Down’s Syndrome Day.

But in Cumbria, people have been going much further than that.

Members of Down’s syndrome support groups decided to make a permanent statement by getting a tattoo.

The three arrows represent the extra copy of chromosome 21 that causes the condition.
