Sir Bobby Robson's 80th birthday celebrated by stars

Stars, family and friends put on a fundraising show to mark what would have been football legend Sir Bobby Robson's 80th birthday.

Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler, X Factor star Joe McElderry and Newcastle United's Alan Pardew, Shola Ameobi and Steve Harper, were some of those who took to the stage at the Sage Gateshead on Monday.

The former England, Newcastle, Ipswich and Barcelona manager set up a cancer research charity in 2008.

He died in 2009 after his fifth battle against the disease.
