The Northumberland Lady who turned her home into a WW1 hospital

To mark the centenary of World War One, Gerry Jackson reports on the role one Northumberland Lady played.

During the war, Lady Sybil Grey ran one of the first Red Cross hospitals in the North East to cope with the stream of wounded soldiers coming back from the trenches.

Set in her home at Howick Hall in Northumberland, the hospital treated more than 400 patients throughout the the Great War.
