South Shields teenager's cancer fundraising drive
A teenager diagnosed with a rare form of cancer is devoting herself to fundraising.
Alex Turner, from South Shields, has laryngeal cancer, but said there was no point in getting upset about it.
The 15-year-old, who went straight back to school the day she was diagnosed, has set up a JustGiving page, and is already on the way to her first £10,000.
She has now set herself a target of £50,000 which would go towards the Teenage Cancer Trust and the children's cancer ward at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary.
