Actor Michael Crawford celebrates hospital 'home from home'

Actor, singer and comedian Michael Crawford joined in the birthday celebrations at Scott House, a purpose-built facility at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, where families with seriously sick children come and stay close to their loved ones.

Mr Crawford is the president of the Sick Children's Trust which designed and funded the 18-bed 'home from home' which stands a few minutes' walk from the Children's Heart Unit.

More than 100 families have stayed there in its first year.
