Benwell community creates rubbish nativity to tackle litter

A nativity scene has been made entirely out of rubbish in a bid to tackle littering in Newcastle.

Benwell & Scotswood Team Parish teamed up with local community groups to collect litter from across the area and create the display, an effort which took two weeks to complete.

The Reverend Chris Minchin, who organised the project, said he wanted to "take something bad about the area and turn it into a good thing".
