Heart transplant girl Evie Green gets hundreds of Christmas cards
A four-year-old girl waiting for a heart transplant has received hundreds of Christmas cards from kind strangers, with more arriving every day.
Evie Green, from Middlesbrough, has dilated cardiomyopathy and is currently in Newcastle's Freeman Hospital.
“She’s been in hospital 10 months now, so we’ve been waiting quite a little while and the whole card thing was just something to hopefully pick her up and give her something to look forward to,” said Evie’s mum, Chloe.
Evie is part of the NHS Waiting to Live campaign, which created a doll in her likeness to encourage people to add themselves and their children on to the NHS Organ Donor Register.
