Roads turn to rivers as heavy rain hits Scarborough

Heavy rain turned some roads in Scarborough into rivers and resulted in a "large volume of weather related incidents" on Thursday, police said.

One video shared on social media showed water gushing out of a drain and down the street in Eastborough in the town centre following the downpours.

North Yorkshire Police said some roads had to be closed as a result of the bad weather.
