NI police chief: Belfast riots 'shameful and disgraceful'
Northern Ireland's Chief Constable Matt Baggott has described the rioting in Belfast which injured 32 police officers and MP Nigel Dodds as "shameful and disgraceful".
PSNI Chief Constable Baggott thanked those who "made significant efforts to keep the peace" in what he described as "a very volatile situation".
There will be 400 more officers arriving in Northern Ireland from Scotland, England and Wales to reinforce the 630 officers who have already been deployed to the region.
He concluded: "You can be assured that the rule of the law will be upheld."
