Stream creates almost 1,000 jobs at Belfast call centre

Almost 1,000 jobs are being created by a call centre company in east Belfast.

The investment is by the US-based company, Stream, and is supported by government grants of more than £3m.

About half of the 993 jobs are already in place, as the firm began recruiting last year with the approval of Invest NI.

First Minister Peter Robinson said the £3.3m investment would "make a significant contribution to our local economy".

BBC Northern Ireland business and economics editor John Campbell reports.
