Anna Lo calls for DUP apology to Muslims

A Northern Ireland politician has called on First Minister and DUP leader Peter Robinson to apologise for supporting a Belfast pastor who made controversial remarks about Muslims.

Anna Lo from the Alliance Party broke down in tears as she spoke to reporters about the comments at Stormont.

Pastor James McConnell described Islam as "heathen" and "satanic", and was defended by Mr Robinson.

Mr Robinson said the comments he made in support of the pastor were "misinterpreted" and added he would never "want to insult or cause distress" to Muslims in Northern Ireland.
