999 CPR call saves grandmother's life
Dramatic audio has been released of a 999 call made by a nine-year-old boy whose grandmother was suffering cardiac arrest.
The boy, Eoin, was passing on instructions from emergency staff to his mother, Pauline, on how to carry out lifesaving CPR.
Sheila, 65, survived thanks to her daughter and grandson keeping a cool head.
Details of the call were released as Stormont Health Minister Edwin Poots launched the Community Resuscitation Strategy for Northern Ireland.
This aims to significantly increase the number of people with CPR skills to improve Northern Ireland's survival rate for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests, which sits at only 10%.
