Sinn Féin: 'No logic' in shutting down institutions

Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has said the party does not see any logic in attempting to "shut down the institutions", saying it did not happen during previous discussions and should "not happen now".

Mr Murphy was speaking as parties prepare to discuss adjourning the Northern Ireland Assembly at a Stormont committee meeting later on Thursday.

On Wednesday, DUP leader Peter Robinson said his party would resign from the Stormont Executive if the committee did not agree the proposal or if the government does not suspend the institutions.
