Ardoyne hippy hippy shaker going viral after 60 years

"Madness, absolute madness," laughs Jackie Meehan. "Look at the arms."

He's watching archive footage of a group of young children dancing in Holy Cross Parish, Ardoyne in north Belfast, in the 1960s.

Windmilling arms, crazy dance moves, more hippy hippy shake than you can shake a stick at - all that and more helped the clip go viral when it was unearthed by BBC News NI education correspondent Robbie Meredith.

The discos took place after Sunday Mass at Holy Cross and, according to Jackie, the young attendees often got themselves very psyched up.
