Gordon Brown 'angry' over progress towards UN goals
Former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has spoken of his anger at the lack of progress made towards the UN's Millennium Development Goals.
Mr Brown said rich countries "had not done enough to honour the promises made".
Created in 2000, the eight goals aim to reduce poverty and hunger and improve health standards around the world.
Earlier, the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon urged world leaders meeting in New York to stick to the task despite the global downturn, insisting they could be achieved by the 2015 deadline.
