Vince Cable defends Liberal Democrat conference speech

Vince Cable will tell his party's conference that "murky" corporate practices threaten UK firms and "capitalism kills competition".

Even before he delivers Wednesday's speech, the business secretary has responded to criticism levelled at him after excerpts were released in advance.

Mr Cable says his upcoming speech is "pro-business" and will appeal to a competitive private market.
