Lib Dem speakers criticise coalition plans for spending cuts

The Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg headed to the United Nations in New York today but he left behind a Liberal Democrat party conference where speaker after speaker lined up to criticise coalition plans for spending cuts.

Speaking to our Political Editor before his departure Mr Clegg insisted that he was arguing the case for fairness within the government.
