Boris Johnson: 3,000 people hold London to ransom

Boris Johnson told the Conservative Party Conference that 3,000 people were holding London to ransom through the Tube strikes.

The London mayor addressed TFL workers and union leaders and said it was not right that so few people could strike and hit the capital' s public transport network and jeopardise the city's economy.

He also claimed Monday's strike was a "political action" and not really connected with health and safety issues as the union claimed.
