Pursuit of Wikileaks founder 'political'

Mark Stephens, the lawyer for Julian Assange - founder of whistle-blowing website Wikileaks, says attempts to pursue him over sex crime allegations are politically motivated.

Detectives in Sweden want to question Mr Assange after two women claimed they were sexually attacked when he visited the country in August.

Mr Assange, who has released thousands of secret US government files through the Wikileaks website, denies the claims.

Speaking to Andrew Marr, Mr Stephens said it seemed to be "a political stunt".
