Lord Heseltine recalls 1980s student protests

Former deputy PM Lord Heseltine said Liberal Democrats were able to say "whatever they liked" and not be in government, as Tories' coalition partner now struggles with the tuition fee issue.

And he added: "The Good Lord delivered them a hard knock; they now have to make difficult decisions."

He also recalled the 1980s Tory governments faced bigger protests and how he was not allowed onto university campuses because of violent protests, but the mood of the country had changed.
