Fresh calls to scrap planned fuel tax rise

There have been fresh demands from the motor industry for the government to scrap any forthcoming tax increases on fuel.

The Retail Motor Industry Federation has written to the chancellor suggesting he abandon the rises planned for April.

The Prime Minister, David Cameron, has told reporters the government was looking at ways it could help relieve the burden on motorists.

The BBC's chief economics correspondent, Hugh Pym, says there are fears of further price rises in the next three months.
