Sacked presenter Andy Gray backed by BNP's Simon Darby

The British National Party's former deputy chairman Simon Darby has spoken up for Andy Gray, but said the sacked Sky presenter may not be grateful for the support.

Gray and fellow presenter Richard Keys were disciplined after making sexist comments about female referee Sian Massey.

During an interview with Andrew Neil, he was also asked about the BNP talking of an "Islamic dirty bomb" helping the party, its costly court action, problems with its accounts and its view of the English Defence League.

He said: "It's a miracle we are still here, but we are."
