Ed Miliband says he will not make false promises on tuition fees
The Labour leader, Ed Miliband, has warned that Britain's young people could become the first generation to have fewer opportunities than their parents.
During a speech in Gateshead, he said the coalition government's decision to increase in university tuition fees was "kicking away the ladders" for the next generation.
Mr Miliband went on to say he would never make false promises about tuition fees in the way he claimed Nick Clegg had done.
