Cameron's Big Society a 'social recovery mission'

David Cameron has said that the Big Society is a model for "social recovery in broken Britain".

In a speech to social entrepreneurs in London, the prime minister said the idea would enable local people to be empowered in their community.

But critics have warned that investment in public services was needed if the Big Society was to succeed.
