Downing Street adopts a cat after rat spotted

David Cameron is set to welcome a new cat to No 10 Downing Street.

The four-year old tabby, believed to be called Larry, is to join the prime minister and his family from the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

The arrival, due on Tuesday, follows weeks of speculation about potential pest control measures after a rat was seen outside No 10.
