William Hague hopes for Libya ceasefire

A UK conference on the mission in Libya will focus on the humanitarian situation and the future of the conflict, Foreign Secretary William Hague has said.

Speaking ahead of the conference, Mr Hague called for an end to violence in the country, and said it was "hard to see a viable future for Libya with Colonel Gaddafi still in power."

The Foreign Secretary also said that more Arab nations were "considering participating in the military enforcement of the UN resolution". The Arab League are due to be among the participants in Tuesday's conference.
