Shadow Health spokesman John Healey on Labour NHS policy

Coalition plans to give family doctors more control over their budgets and primary care trusts and strategic health authorities have attracted criticism, and there are rumours of U-turns on the horizon.

But some say Labour needs to do more than just oppose the plans. Shadow Health spokesman John Healey admits the number of managers grew too fast under Labour as he is asked what he would do he if he was still in charge of health.
