Lib Dem David Laws to be suspended over expenses claims
David Laws, the Liberal Democrat MP who was forced to resign as Chief Secretary to the Treasury days after the coalition came to power, is to be suspended from the Commons for seven days for wrongly claiming MPs' expenses.
Mr Laws, who has repaid the money and apologised, has always maintained that he made false claims to hide the fact that he was gay and living with a male partner.
