David Cameron and Nick Clegg back David Laws over expenses claims
David Cameron and Nick Clegg have backed David Laws, the former Chief Secretary to the Treasury who stepped down last year after revelations about his expenses claims.
Speaking at a public forum at the Olympic Park in London, the deputy prime minister said that Mr Laws' case was different to other expenses scandals, as his only motive was to protect his privacy.
Lib Dem MP David Laws should be suspended from the Commons for seven days over his expenses claims, the Commons standards watchdog has said.
